Lost keys — no way to start it
If your only key or fob is lost or stolen, a lockout won't help — you need a replacement key cut or programmed, which means getting the car to a dealer or locksmith.
You may just need to get into the car
If a spare key exists but you're locked out, a lockout pro can get you in. If you have the spare in hand, you may not need us at all.
- 1If you have the spare key with you, you're good to go.
- 2If the spare is at home and you're locked out, request a lockout so you can wait safely inside the car.
- 3If you can't reach a spare today, request a tow to a dealer or locksmith.
Get a tow to a dealer or locksmith
Most modern keys must be programmed to the car on site at a dealer or auto locksmith — so the car needs to come to them.
- 1Confirm the car is locked and parked safely.
- 2Request a tow and set the destination to a dealer for your make, or a mobile auto-locksmith shop.
- 3Bring your photo ID and the vehicle registration — they're required to make a new key.
