Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-05
1. Why We Have This Policy
TowGo is a marketplace that connects people who need roadside help with independent providers who can help. For that marketplace to work, everyone has to play fair. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets the ground rules.
The AUP is part of our Terms of Service. If you break these rules, we may suspend or close your account.
2. Who This Applies To
Everyone who uses the Platform — Customers, Drivers, Fleet Operators, Shops, and Business Customers.
3. Things You May Not Do
3.1 Break the law
- Do not use the Platform to commit fraud, theft, or any other crime.
- Do not use the Platform to help others break the law.
3.2 Harm other people
- Do not harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate anyone.
- Do not use hate speech or discriminate against anyone based on race, religion, color, national origin, age, sex, height, weight, familial status, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or veteran status.
- Do not send unsolicited sexual content or make sexual advances.
- Do not doxx anyone (post their private information without consent).
3.3 Cheat the platform
- Do not create fake accounts.
- Do not impersonate someone else.
- Do not use bots, scripts, or scrapers to interact with the Platform.
- Do not manipulate ratings or reviews.
- Do not spoof your GPS location.
- Do not try to bypass fees by moving jobs off-platform after they are booked through TowGo.
3.4 Solicit off-platform payments
- Drivers, Fleets, and Shops may not ask Customers to pay cash or use another app to skip our fees for a job that was booked through TowGo.
- Customers may not offer off-platform payment to steer jobs around our system.
3.5 Reverse-engineer the platform
- Do not decompile, reverse engineer, or try to derive the source code of our apps.
- Do not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without written permission.
- Security researchers — please email [email protected] and follow our disclosure process.
3.6 Facilitate a competing marketplace
- Do not use the Platform, its data, or its user list to build or feed a competing service.
3.7 Move things you may not move
- Do not use the Platform to tow stolen vehicles.
- Do not tow hazardous materials (fuel, chemicals, biohazards) without disclosing them to the Driver first.
- Do not tow vehicles you do not own or have permission to move.
4. Extra Rules for Drivers
Drivers also may not:
- Drive dangerously. No speeding, aggressive driving, or reckless behavior.
- Drive impaired. No alcohol, cannabis, or other impairing substances while on a job.
- Use the app while driving. Pull over safely to interact with the app.
- Bring passengers or extra people on a job unless the Customer agrees.
- Refuse based on protected class. You may not refuse a job because of a Customer's race, religion, disability, sex, or other protected class.
- Solicit tips outside the app. Tips are optional; do not pressure Customers.
- Contact Customers off-platform after a job. Do not text, call, or add Customers on social media after the job is done.
- Share Customer information with anyone outside the job.
5. Extra Rules for Customers
Customers also may not:
- Provide false vehicle information to get a lower price.
- Request a tow you do not need (for example, to move a friend's car for free using someone else's account).
- Verbally abuse Drivers. Rating a Driver low is fair; harassing them is not.
6. Content You Post
Do not post content (photos, reviews, chat, ratings) that is:
- Illegal, defamatory, deceptive, or misleading.
- Hateful, threatening, or harassing.
- Sexually explicit or gratuitously violent.
- Infringing on someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights.
- Full of private information about other people.
- Spam or advertising for other services.
Copyright complaints: see our DMCA Policy.
7. What Happens If You Break the Rules
Depending on what happened, we may:
- Warn you.
- Restrict features of your account.
- Suspend your account temporarily.
- Close your account permanently.
- Reverse or hold payments.
- Report you to law enforcement if the law was broken.
We decide these actions in our reasonable discretion. Where a Driver, Fleet, or Shop is deactivated, we will explain the reason and offer an appeal path where practical.
8. Reporting Violations
If you see someone breaking these rules, please tell us:
- In the app — every user profile and job has a "Report" option.
- By email — [email protected].
- For urgent safety issues that involve immediate danger, call 911 first, then tell us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. When we do, we post the new version at /legal/acceptable-use-policy and update the "Last updated" date.
