Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TowGo (“TowGo,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our apps, websites, and services (the “Service”). It applies to Customers, Operators, and drivers who use TowGo.
1. Overview
TowGo is a marketplace that connects Customers with independent tow operators. To dispatch help, keep people safe, process payments, and support you, we need to collect and share certain information. We collect only what we need for those purposes and share it only as described below.
2. Data We Collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:
- Account & identity data — name, email address, phone number, and password (stored hashed).
- Location data — the pickup/breakdown location you provide and, with your permission, your device’s precise real-time location so an Operator can find you and you can track the driver.
- Vehicle & job data — vehicle details, the type of service requested, photos you upload, messages exchanged in-app, ratings, and your job history.
- Payment data — a payment token and limited card details such as the last four digits and card brand. Full card numbers are handled by our payment processor (Stripe), not stored by TowGo.
- Operator/driver data — for Operators and drivers, additional information such as driver documents, licenses, insurance, and vehicle records used for verification and compliance.
- Device & usage data — device identifiers, app version, push notification tokens, log data, and analytics events about how you use the Service.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Dispatch & service — to match you with an Operator, route the driver to you, enable tracking, and let both sides communicate.
- Safety & trust — to verify identities and documents, prevent fraud and abuse, and respond to safety incidents.
- Billing — to calculate fares, process payments, issue receipts, and handle refunds and disputes.
- Support — to respond to your questions and resolve issues.
- Improvement & communications — to operate, analyze, and improve the Service and to send you service-related and (where permitted) promotional messages.
- Legal — to comply with law and enforce our terms.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. We retain job, payment, and dispute records for longer where necessary to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations (typically several years), after which we delete or anonymize it. You can request deletion as described below.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, update, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise many of these directly in the app (for example, editing your profile) or by contacting us at [email protected]. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by law. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
7. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to request deletion or correction of your information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. TowGo does not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email [email protected]. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
9. How We Protect Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.
10. Location Data
Precise location is central to dispatching help. With your permission, we collect your device location while you have an active or recent request so an Operator can reach you and you can track the driver. You can disable location permission in your device settings, but the Service may not function properly without it.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
13. Contact Us
For privacy questions or requests, contact us at [email protected]. TowGo is based in the State of Michigan, USA.
